The story opens with Artan the Highland warrior being sent on a mission to bring the laird’s niece, Cecily, back to visit the ailing man and his land. Artan embarks on a long journey to the Lowlands and the beautiful, red-haired Cecily. Little does he realize that her murdering guardians have agreed to Cecily marrying the conniving, whoremonger, Sir Fergus within a fortnight! The rest is an entertaining yarn of the rollicking story of Artan and Cecily! I guess that you “ken” that I loved the story and found the characters to be well-developed and engaging. This book will have you cheering for the two characters and wishing that the story never ends! Recommended for all lovers of historical romance.
