Maira is about to be married to another McInnes, Geof, to make an alliance between the clans. She is kidnapped before the wedding by Alec MacNeil, the Lone Wolf and head of his clan. He takes her to his fortress on an island, Kisimul Castle. There she meets his two children and learns about the curse of Kisimul Castle. Maira and Alec feel a strong attraction for each other as the story branches into warring clans and deceit from supposed friends. This historical romance is a fast, satisfying read that has likable characters and an interesting story that keeps you engaged throughout. Enjoyed it and recommend it to lovers of this genre.
