Beneath an Indian Sky by Renita D’Silva
Mary is an British girl who lives with her loving parents in India during the colonial period. She becomes life-long friends with Sita and Amin, two young Indian locals that are major characters throughout the book. After the tragic death of her parents, Mary lives in England with family until she decides to go back to India to discover the hidden past of her childhood. What started out rather slowly, ended up consuming me as I couldn’t put down this emotional and heartfelt novel! The story has love, heartache, tragedy and deception swirling in it’s core that makes it one of the best stories that I’ve read this year! This is a fabulous addition to historical fiction.

Lone Rider by Lindsay McKenna
Time to once again visit Wind River, Wyoming! This time in the fifth book of the Wind River Valley series, Harper Sloan is working at the Bar C Ranch as a wrangler when a new employee gets hired to work with him. This ranch caters to veterans suffering from PTSD and the newbie is Tara Dalton, a local who served in Afghanistan as a combat photographer. She shares a bunkhouse with Harper and the two find out that they have quite a bit in common as they both work to overcome their PTSD issues. Great addition to the series and an exciting story with adventure and suspense tossed in!

Army Ranger with Benefits by Donna Michaels
Emma Roberts has been trying to get the doctor that she works for to ask her out. She’s had a crush on him, forever, and she’s not giving up even though he’s not acting very interested. Time is marching on and Emma is losing hope for a date in the future when her neighbor, Dominic Acardi, is returning home with injuries he has sustained from a military deployment overseas. He gets his brother, ex-Army Ranger Vince Acardi to fly in to help him out. Since Dom is not only her next door neighbor but also a good friend, Emma runs over to check on Dom and runs right into Vince! The story moves on and really has a sweet plot with these two irresistible main characters. A great addition to the contemporary romance genre.
