This new addition to the Cajun Country Mystery series is number four. Maggie Crozat is pulled into another murder as a body is found behind the B & B at Crozat Plantation. The little town of Pelican, Louisiana is up in arms just as the festivities begin for the Miss Pelican Mardi Gras Gumbo Queen pageant. To make things worse, a judge for the contest is shot and that is no fun down on the bayou. This funny new cozy mystery by Ellen Byron is sure to please anyone who wants “the good times to roll”!

Dream Lover by Stacey Keith

A great addition to the “bad boy/good girl” genre! April is a social worker assigned to a school truancy case. The guardian is none other than Brandon, the lovable, sexy bad boy. This story is a really emotional one that will have you rooting for Brandon to the very end. Great characters and a “suck-you-in” plot make this a fabulous read in contemporary romance!

Dream Lover by Stacey Keith will be available July 3, 2018 by Lyrical Shine, an imprint of Kensington Books. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

The Farmer’s Bride Collection by DiAnn Mills

A beautiful collection of Christian short stories of romance, love and farmers! The collection is five different stories from five different authors. I especially liked the story written by DiAnn Mills, entitled “New Beginnings”, but all of the stories are sweet and full of emotion and of course, a testament to God’s love for us. Highly recommended.

The Farmer’s Bride Collection by DiAnn Mills will be available July 1, 2018 from Barbour Books. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

Road to You by Barbara Ankrum

Gemma, big-time news journalist meets Noah, ex-Navy Seal in a contempory (western) romance.
This book is the story of two people who meet and hide their true selves. This story takes place on neutral ground, in a small town in Montana. Noah is going to a friend’s wedding and Gemma is on assignment, writing about love! Both end up wishing that they had been honest from the beginning.
Cute and flirty characters with a great setting in Montana.

The Silent Wife by Kerry Fisher

Wow! I start this review with a big wow because the Silent Wife blew me away! What a page-turner that I COULD not put down! Told in different voices by the author, this well-written story begins with Maggie telling about her marriage to Nico Farinelli. Maggie and her teenage son move from her mother’s cramped house to Nico’s Victorian home next door to his mother and brother. Nico has a thirteen year old daughter, Francesca, who is not very happy with the arrangement. Nico’s first wife, Caitlin, died of cancer only two years before and very few people seem to be happy about Maggie living in her place. All of the family members are stereotypical but are literally bursting at the seams with tremendous story lines as they all seem to merge together for a big electrifying bang! Emotional, realistic, full of contemporary problems of life, this book jams a lifetime of appeal and energy for the reader! Highest recommendation this year!

The Silent Wife by Kerry Fisher will be available November 13, 2018 from Hachette Book Group. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

True-Blue Cowboy by Sara Richardson

Sweet story of a famous bronco rider who can’t quite give up his playboy ways until he meets a beautiful lawyer, Everly. Everly was an attorney but lost her license after business dealings with a man she loved. Now she is a cook, owns a farm and has a little cafe on the farm. As soon as she meets Mateo, sparks begin to fly between them but both have secrets and both are afraid to love. An engaging contemporary romance with great characters set against the beautiful foothills of Colorado.

Cottage by the Sea by Debbie Macomber

Grab your hanky, find a nice comfy spot and prepare yourself for a treat better than dessert. Fans of Debbie Macomber and contemporary romance, hold on to your hats! I think this is one of the best romance novels I’ve read in a long time! Beautiful story and plenty of broken-lovable characters will have you reading long into the night. Annie is suffering after a huge tragedy in her life and must leave Seattle for a “happy place”. She goes back to the beach town where her family spent many summer vacations enjoying themselves. Annie finds healing, love, friendship and heartache all in a short time as she tries to get her life back together. A huge recommendation for all readers!

A historical, Christian romance that takes place in the 1920’s In Yosemite National Park. Artist Olivia Rutherford is running away from her past when she accepts a job painting for an outdoor magazine. She must go to Yosemite to paint, but will also be facing many fears as she takes the assignment. A young man at the park is assigned to assist and guide Olivia around Yosemite. Clark works at the park and is not happy when he is told to “babysit” the artist. Olivia has many secrets as well as fears that have haunted her for years. She knows that if anyone finds out who she really is or about her family, her whole career will shatter and she will never find true love. The Ever After by Sarah Pekkanen

An excellent insight into the marriage of a contemporary couple, Josie and Frank Moore. Josie thinks that her marriage is absolutely perfect; a loving husband who is a wonderful father and great provider as well as two adorable children. Josie finds out that Frank is having an affair and the downward spiral begins to drag their family into an emotional and heartbreaking pit. Josie does find that her strong character brings her back and she is able to deal with all the decisions that need to be made. I really enjoyed this well-written story of a sad time in life that happens everyday in our society today. Highly recommended!

Low Carb On The Go by Sandra Stupning

Low carb doesn’t mean no carb! Great explanation of good carbs and bad carbs and other useful info for the person who wants to eat low carb! There are more than eighty recipes for low carb meals and snacks too! I am very interested in different ways of thinking about eating the low carb way. Even though I love to use fresh ingredients, some of the recipes here were not really good for me
because I don’t like to spend time and money in the grocery store buying items that are not things that I would use again. Interesting book and great pictures make this a good addition to anyone’s library.
