Wow! I start this review with a big wow because the Silent Wife blew me away! What a page-turner that I COULD not put down! Told in different voices by the author, this well-written story begins with Maggie telling about her marriage to Nico Farinelli. Maggie and her teenage son move from her mother’s cramped house to Nico’s Victorian home next door to his mother and brother. Nico has a thirteen year old daughter, Francesca, who is not very happy with the arrangement. Nico’s first wife, Caitlin, died of cancer only two years before and very few people seem to be happy about Maggie living in her place. All of the family members are stereotypical but are literally bursting at the seams with tremendous story lines as they all seem to merge together for a big electrifying bang! Emotional, realistic, full of contemporary problems of life, this book jams a lifetime of appeal and energy for the reader! Highest recommendation this year!
The Silent Wife by Kerry Fisher will be available November 13, 2018 from Hachette Book Group. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.
