Respected conservative radio and television host, Laura Ingraham, has written a smart, detailed description of modern American politics. Ingraham begins with her perception of the beginning of the populist movement in America with a thorough description of Reagan’s political stretch as President of the United States. She deftly presents a smart and detailed description of the affect of every president through President Donald Trump. The book ends with a question of where the populist movement will go from here. Intelligent and well-researched, Laura Ingraham shows her understanding and knowledge of world politics today as well as in the past.

Felicity has her own problems with her boyfriend but she has to continue her romantic “genius” to design a gown for a very important salon. This Christmas edition story (Hannah Swensen #23) begins with a look back at Hannah Swensen as she finishes college and returns home right after the death of her father. Her mother helps a friend, Essie, while she is spending time convalescing from a broken hip. They plan to recreate a Christmas party from years gone by at a local ballroom. Hannah decides to open her own bakery and to be the chief baker for the party. As usual, delicious sweet and savory recipes are included at the end of each chapter. Good holiday addition to the series.

Tessa St. Croix is a lovely, young woman from a wealthy family who does something that is unusual in 1830’s England! She and her two friends decide to post advertisements to find a husband and they get an answer from three men who are interested. Tessa meets her “applicant”, Joseph Chance, and they are immediately taken with each other. Tessa truly falls in love with Joseph and he with her. The rest of the story has to do with lies, hidden secrets and the topic of mutual consent to have sex. I thought that the author did a very good job handling that topic and including it in the story. The characters were well-developed and I loved Tessa’s insistence to learn about the shipyards and to be employed there. Excellent addition to the Historical Romance genre!
