Tessa meets her “applicant”, Joseph Chance, and they are immediately taken with each other. Tessa truly falls in love with Joseph and he with her. The rest of the story has to do with lies, hidden secrets and the topic of mutual consent to have sex. I thought that the author did a very good job handling that topic and including it in the story. The characters were well-developed and I loved Tessa’s insistence to learn about the shipyards and to be employed there. Excellent addition to the Historical Romance genre!
