Dawson Callahan is a wrangler in search of a job in Wyoming. He learns of a job available in the Wind River area and immediately goes there to be interviewed by Sarah Carter, the sheriff of the county. Sarah is impressed by Dawson and his background as a Navy medic. Being a person with a military background, Sarah appreciates Dawson and hires him as a wrangler on her grandmother’s ranch. Dawson is perfect for the position and becomes the protector of Sarah and her grandmother. A terrible work-related problem happens to Sarah and she is forced to flee for her life with Dawson in tow. I loved this new addition to the Wind River series. It was an exciting thriller that had a touch of romance and mystery. I recommend this series to those who love to read about ex-military characters and romance.
