Saving Anna by Sharon Struth

Anna Abrams Kelly is an abused spouse who has finally gotten enough strength to leave her horrible situation. She leaves on a trip to Germany to help her neighbor find a missing person who helped him during World War II. Anna has hired a driver and translator, Josef Schmitt, who is recovering from a terrible accident that has affected him physically and mentally. The two form a bond and forge a way to find the healing they both need. This beautifully-written story was poignant and heartwarming. I truly think it is one of the most original and realistic stories of love and second chances that I’ve read in a long time. I loved this book and am really looking forward to reading more of Susan Struth’s fabulous storytelling.

The Satapur Moonstone by Sujata Massey

Best-selling author, Sujata Massey, once again takes us back to 1920’s India with Perveen Mistry, Esquire, a female Bombay lawyer who has an uncanny knack for solving mysteries. In the Moonstone of Satapur, Perveen is hired to become a liaison between the Royal family of Satapur and the British government. The job is perfect for her as she will have to investigate the problem of a young Maharajah’s education after his widowed mother disagrees with the dowager Maharani’s expectations for his future. Before going to the palace, Perveen must travel to a British circuit house to get her assignment in the rural area of Satapur. The handsome British officer in charge is kind and considerate to her and Perveen finds herself feeling a very strong attraction to him. (Hope this story line continues!) After a dangerous, frightening trip to the palace, Perveen learns that the Royal family is thought to be cursed since there have been two Royal deaths that have occurred in the past few years. Ms. Mistry thinks that something is amiss and must find out the truth about these deaths while trying to avoid her own demise. Sujata Massey does such a wonderful job researching and building her stories. I love reading anything that she has written as I know that I will learn something new and be totally immersed in her story from the very beginning. This book will be published May 14, 2018 so if you haven’t read the first Perveen Mistry novel, The Widows of Malabar Hill, you have plenty of time to enjoy and learn about Perveen from the very beginning! Highly recommended!!

A Season of Grace by Lorraine Snelling

Best-selling Christian author, Lorraine Snelling, has added a beautifully-written, new addition to her many novels about the Scandinavian immigrants who helped settle Minnesota. They are all well-written and full of interesting facts about the Norwegian culture. This book is another great story about the Carlson family with its many vivid characters and interesting cultural traditions. A Season of Grace is all about family, love and the powerful strength to be able to survive the early 1900’s in the rural areas of the northern Midwest. I loved this book and highly recommend it! (I also love her Red River of the North series.)

A Season of Grace is now available from Bethany House Publishers. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.
