The House at Baker Street by Michelle Birkby

Sherlock Holmes’ landlady and friend, Mrs. Hudson, teams up to do some investigating with Dr. Watson’s wife, Mary, in this enjoyable mystery. Together they try to solve their own case that involves finding the culprit who is blackmailing women and trying to ruin their lives. The case turns vicious as victims begin to be murdered just as the ladies get closer to the real truth. Excellent writing, realistic characters and lots of twists and turns in this engaging story. Highly recommended for all mystery lovers.

Merry and Bright by Debbie Macomber

Meet Merry, or is it Mary? And you can only guess that the masculine part of the story is Bright! Merry is working temp work for a company and has a rather disagreeable supervisor, Jay Bright. Her family talks her into using an online dating app because she hasn’t dated in such a long time. I really enjoyed reading about this part of the story because it was humorous and so sweet! This is another fine Christmas story by Debbie Macomber that will warm your heart and make you smile.

Christmas with My Cowboy by Diana Palmer, Lindsay McKenna and Margaret Way

Have a very merry holiday season with this collection of three engaging, “Cowboy” contemporary romance stories. Take a trip to snowy Colorado or perhaps you’d also enjoy going to Wyoming to find love ! The third story may require a bigger suitcase as you go across the Pacific to Australia to find a handsome cowboy “down under”. No doubt about it, you’ll love these three stories about second chances and lost love. Three of my favorite authors and three outstanding holiday stories!

Christmas with My Cowboy by Diana Palmer, Lindsay McKenna and Margaret Way will be available September 26, 2017 from Zebra, an imprint of Kensington Books. An egalley of this book was made available by the publisher in exchange for a honest review.

Just a Little Christmas by Janet Dailey

A gem of a story!
Ellie Marsden comes back to Branding Iron after leaving her big city job. She drives in with her little poodle, newly divorced and very pregnant. She can’t wait to get to the small town with a slower pace and to enjoy the safety of her mother’s home. Immediately she has her sister-in-law wanting her to go to her restaurant and Ellie runs into the reason that she left town ten years ago. Jubal McFarland is still a tall, rugged hunk, but now he is a widower with a darling daughter, Gracie. Slowly Ellie and Jubal both learn that they both want to stay away from each other but they can’t deny the old feelings are still there after all this time. I really enjoyed this tender love story of second chances that engages you until the very end. Great characters and a sweet story that would appeal to anyone who loves contemporary romance.
