Listen to the Warm by Rod McKuen

“and if the world breaks down, I’ll be around.”
Rod McKuen, Listen to the Warm

Anything straight from the heart should include the beautiful poetry of Rod McKuen.  This was the first book of poetry that I ever read from cover-to-cover.  It was in 1968 and I was a brokenhearted 18 year old.  Reading this book was like a strong salve applied to an open wound.  McKuen always exposed his open wounds and I’m sure he used his writings to heal them.
